Jacqueline Lyons is an artist who explores contemporary realism and pop surrealism with both oil and acrylic paint.

A graduate student and therapist, Lyons explores themes of mental health and trauma recovery, believing firmly in the saying coined by Cesar A. Cruz, “Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.” 

Because of the therapeutic nature of art, the compliment between art and mental health is present throughout Lyons’ works depicted both literally and through metaphor often depicted by the sea, evocative portraiture, and animal symbolism.
